Cursor pricing in 2026: every plan, and what each costs

Cursor pricing runs from $0 to $200 a month: Free, Plus at $8, Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200. Those plans are part of The X Subscription, which Cursor joined on October 12, 2026. Cursor Pro ($20) and the India-only Cursor Start (₹649) are now legacy plans for existing subscribers.

How much does Cursor cost?

Cursor costs $0 to $200 a month for individuals, and $30 to $200 a seat for teams. These are the plans on cursor.com/pricing and in Cursor's Models and Pricing docs:

PlanMonthlyYearlyIncluded usageWhat it adds
Free$0n/aLimitedAgent and Chat with Cursor's own models
Plus$8$80BaseMore usage, Cursor's own models only (Grok and Composer), at fixed settings

Teams$30, $100 or $200 a seatMatches the seat's tierCentral billing, SSO, usage analytics
EnterpriseCustomPooledInvoicing, SCIM, audit logs

Prices exclude tax. Every paid plan also includes Grok apps and X benefits, because the subscription covers all three products.

What is The X Subscription?

The X Subscription is one plan for Grok, Cursor and X, announced on October 12, 2026. Grok and Cursor draw from one usage pool that refreshes every week. Cursor's own models (Grok 4.7, Grok 4.6, Grok 4.5 and Composer 2.5) come out of that pool. Third-party models, such as Claude, GPT and Gemini, don't.

That last point is the biggest change for coders. On Premium and above, Cursor's docs say third-party models are billed at the model's API list price from the first request, paid from prepaid credit you top up. Plus and Free can't use them at all.

What is the Cursor Pro price now?

Cursor Pro still costs $20 a month, but only for people who already have it. Cursor's legacy plans page lists Pro, Pro+ ($60) and Ultra ($200) as plans that keep working as they are, while new customers start on The X Subscription.

Cursor names Premium ($30) as the closest plan to Pro. They aren't the same deal:

Cursor Pro (legacy)Premium (X Subscription)
Price$20 a month$30 a month
Cursor modelsMonthly Cursor Models poolWeekly pool, at least twice Pro's coding usage with Cursor models
Third-party modelsIncluded through an Other Models poolNot included; API list price from prepaid credit
Extra usageOn-demand, billed in arrearsTop-ups, paid in advance
Grok and X benefitsNoYes

If you're on Pro and mostly use Claude or GPT in Cursor, check those numbers before you switch. Moving to The X Subscription is optional, and Cursor says it's permanent: Support can't undo it.

What is Cursor pricing in India?

Cursor's pricing pages list The X Subscription in USD only, with no rupee prices. Cursor Start, the ₹649 a month plan launched for India on July 28, 2026, is a legacy plan for developers who subscribed before The X Subscription. New customers choose an X Subscription plan instead, and Cursor names Plus ($8) as the comparable tier.

If you're in India and signing up now, this is what you'd get compared with Start:

Cursor Start (legacy)Plus (X Subscription)
Price₹649 a month, tax included$8 a month, before tax
CurrencyINRUSD
PaymentUPI, Indian credit and debit cardsCredit and debit cards
ModelsGrok 4.7, 4.6, 4.5 and Composer 2.5, fixed medium effortThe same four, fixed medium effort
Cloud AgentsYesNo
Third-party modelsNoNo

On The X Subscription, Cloud Agents start at Premium, $30 a month, so Plus doesn't replace that part of Start. Cursor's pricing FAQ lists credit and debit cards for self-serve plans and doesn't mention UPI.

If you already have Start, you can keep it. Cursor's Start page says you can only buy it while your account is on the free plan, so once you move to any other paid plan, you can't switch back.

How does Cursor's usage work?

Each paid plan has one pool of usage for Cursor's own models, shared across the editor, the CLI, Cloud Agents, Grok Bot and the Grok apps. It refreshes weekly, and models draw from it at different rates. When it runs out, Cursor's usage page gives three choices: wait for the reset, pay with prepaid credit, or upgrade.

Past the pool, Cursor's models cost these per million tokens:

ModelInputOutput
Composer 2.5$0.50$2.50
Grok 4.7$2$6
Grok 4.7 (Fast)$4$12

Prepaid credit expires 365 days after you buy it. You can set a monthly cap on extra usage, and Cursor says requests are never downgraded in quality or speed when you hit a limit.

Teams pay one more thing. On Teams and Enterprise, eligible third-party model requests carry a Cursor Token Rate of $0.25 per million tokens on top of the model's API price, including requests made with your own API key. Individual plans don't pay it.

Where Buildful fits

Buildful isn't an editor. It's a background coding agent: you describe a task in the browser, it runs in a private cloud sandbox, runs your checks, tests UI changes in a real browser, and opens a pull request on your GitHub repo. That's the job Cursor's Cloud Agents do, which on The X Subscription start at Premium.

Buildful Pro is $10 a month for 1,000 tasks, and Team is $40 a month for 3,000 tasks shared by unlimited members. In India they're ₹750 and ₹3,500 a month, billed in rupees. Smart Mode picks the right open-weight model for each task, and on Pro and Team you can pick a frontier model like Claude or GPT yourself, with prepaid credit or your own API key. If you'd rather keep coding in Cursor and hand off the rest, the Buildful vs Cursor page shows how the two differ.
